St. Joseph Healthcare is "Tobacco Free for Life"
To promote wellness and provide wholistic healing in accordance with our mission, the use of tobacco products (cigarettes, cigars, pipes, and smokeless tobacco) is prohibited within and outside all St. Joseph Healthcare owned buildings.

Visitors wishing to use tobacco products will be asked to go to their personal vehicles to do so.

Visiting Hours

Visiting hours are from 1 p.m. to 8 p.m.; we ask that visitors limit their time to these hours. Children under 14 may visit with permission of the charge nurse. Exceptions may be made under special circumstances, always with the patient's best interest in mind. There is a comfortable waiting area on each floor for visitors to wait and relax, as well as a lobby just inside the main entrance on Broadway.

Visits to the Critical Care Unit are limited to members of the immediate family. The visits must be short and are permissible 24 hours a day. Children under 12 generally are not permitted to visit. Again, exceptions may be made by the critical care nurses, always after consideration of each patient's condition and needs. Large families should appoint one spokesperson to speak with doctors and nurses.

Contacting a patient

You may contact a patient directly between the hours of 7 a.m. and 9:30 p.m.  To direct dial a patient room and avoid the switchboard or nurses’ station, dial 262-6 followed by the patient’s three-digit room number.  Include area code (207) for long distance calls.  Calls placed outside the designated hours are routed to the nurses’ station.

The Front Desk volunteers may assist you in locating the room number for your family member or friend.  You may contact them between 8 a.m. and 8 p.m. by dialing (207) 262-1776 or by visiting the Broadway entrance Front Desk for assistance.
